Most families start this process because something at home has slipped: showers, meals, the housework, or a parent who is unsteady after a fall. You do not need to decide the funding before you ask for help.

Name the help you actually need

Write down the tasks that are hard this month, not a diagnosis. Showering and dressing sit under personal care. Cleaning, laundry and meals sit under domestic assistance. Time off for the person who usually helps is respite. A free consultation is the place to sort which of those you need.

If you want government funding

Contact My Aged Care on 1800 200 422, or online, and ask for an assessment. If you are approved for Support at Home, Konex Care can deliver your in-home services through our registered partner provider. We will explain how that works for your plan. We are not the organisation that approves the funding.

If you cannot wait for the assessment

You do not have to go without support while you wait. We offer privately funded in-home care that can usually start, and we can help you plan the next steps once your funding is approved. That option is described on private home care.

What the consultation covers

We meet you at home or at our office at 113 Poath Rd, Murrumbeena. We talk about your needs, routines and goals, explain your funding options and answer your questions. There is no cost and no obligation. After a care plan is agreed, support can usually begin.
